Buddy the Tortoise

November 11, 2011SenJr

Guide Buddy through a series of levels where he dodges laser cannons and tries to destroy them by shooting dirt balls at them. Buddy has to dodge or destroy these lasers as he gets from entry to exit of each level. As this game is designed for at a BYOG you would be expecting 2D; yeah you're not getting that. This game iss full 3D and we've used the Unity 3D game engine for it. So get ready people, cause HERE COMES BUDDY!

finished 100% modelling of the character. Texturing for the character is in process. Working on the implementation of the basic game mechanisms.

We ran into a couple of speedbumps along the way with Unity but now we're back on track. 20 hours left so lets see how it goes.

Okay, so we're back. We have quite a few changes to the game.  Firstly, Bimbo the turtle is now Buddy the Tortoise. Secondly, the new title of the game is the protangonist himself - Buddy the Tortoise. Buddy has all his limbs, he doesn't have to go around collecting them. Instead, he has to go around destroying laser turrets that are trying to kill him with dirt balls. Designing Buddy is complete, he now needs to be implemented into Unity. We're 80% done scripting in unity and now all that is left is the texturing, tweaking the game and making the GDD. Overall, Its coming along great!
